Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is the largest and most visible unit within the Department, with officers assigned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to respond to the needs of our residents. The Patrol Division provides the most services to the community on a daily basis with several primary missions which include emergency response to calls for service, crime prevention, proactive patrol, traffic enforcement and preliminary investigations. The Patrol division is under the command of a Lieutenant and has a Sergeant assigned to each of three shifts.

The patrol division also has several collateral functions with officers specially trained in DARE, court room security, and community programs.

Additionally, the Beachwood Police Department supplies a full-time School Resource Officer to the Toms River School District and is primarily assigned to Intermediate South School on a daily basis but is also available to respond to the needs of the Beachwood Elementary School.
